are there anybody here who has already used iris intruments like syscal ? it claims it can get resistivity imaging up to 400-600 feet in high resolution for syscal r1 switch and up to more than 1000 meters for syscal pro switch. syscal r1 switch is P 4,500,000 in the philippines while syscal pro switch cost between 8m more or less.    a better way is to hire people who has this equipments.

this is what im talking. why has eliseo cabusao not employed professional experts in the world to conduct imaging on the ground as what has been done in dubai international airport when a part of their runway had cracks and they have to find the cause of such cracks. with the licensed and professional geophysicist, there was no problem finding such problem as it was discovered during scanning and field work that there was a very huge void down 30 feet below. it was a huge void that it took 100 cement mixer trucks to fill the void up. 

it means , these super expensive equipments are effective .

Buried structure




During archeological studies, the determination of the location and of the spatial extension of the buried structures (e.g. walls of ancient and existing buildings, Himi et al., 2016) allows to determine precisely the area of investigation and the geometry of the buried structure (Selim et al., 2014, Terron et al., 2015). Electrical resistivity has been shown useful to image remains of buildings, tombs and other traces of ancient human activity.



The Syscal range is well adapted to image such structures at shallow depth (Syscal Kid Switch, Syscal Junior Switch). The following example shows the ability of the Electrical Resistivity Tomography (ERT) to image a tomb at shallow depth (0.5 - 1m) with a Syscal Kid Switch.





CAVITY -
Cavities


Cavities generally occurring in calcareous soils (karst) or due to mining activity may constitute a real danger for all type of activity on the ground surface. The cavity may create ground surface subsidence to sinkhole, generating from fissure in the masonry to the total collapse of building. This phenomenon can also occur in dams. In all cases, the early detection of cavity is the only way to minimize risk for population and structures. Usually employed complementarily to other methods, the electrical resistivity tomography may be sensitive to the presence of cavities.


The Syscal Switch range is therefore well adapted to this type of applications (Syscal R1 Switch / Syscal Pro Switch).
The Promis 10 slingram type EM profiler can also be adapted to image long linear or surface (such as for dams).

That's very interesting. You mean to say there was a huge void beneath the Dubai International Airport and they didn't know about it when they built it there? How deep and large was this void?

That instrument you mentioned here sounds incredible! I suppose they didn't know about it for the Baguio project.. OR.. they didn't have the funds to hire this expensive equipment for scanning operations.

the void was only found when cracks appeared on the runways. since the dubai airport was so huge, that portion where there are cracks was not used. it took them a long time to scan all the area of the airport. more than a year or almost a year. forgot the details.

the void was i think 30 feet or 30 meters. i forgot .

according to my friend, when he is hired by mining companies, its easy to find the gold vein. syscal r1 is 4,500,000 here in the philippines landed. syscal pro is 7.5m to 8m plus plus. the latter can reach up to more than 1,000 feet. syscal r1 maybe lesser. it depends on the wires and the spacing of the wires ( 5 meters, 10 meters and 50 meters).

that is the reason why mining companies are always successful. geophysical reading first, then drill, get sample and whola. you get eureka.
