WEIRD COMPASS READINGS PHENOMENON

Hello everyone. I have been aiming for a long time to post my question here regarding our weird experience in the field.
What I am talking about is the strange or erratic compass reading over a certain area in a field. At a given spot, the compass correctly points to the north. Go some distance to your left and the same compass points to a different north, such that what should be two parallel north lines now meet at a certain point.
Actually, the compass erratically points to 60 degrees Northeast.
We did use four different compasses but all erred.
Has anybody experienced this?
Or could this be a sign that there is a deposit in the area although I have yet to hear of the compass being held back by gold.
Or are unseen forces are out there, tinkering with the needle, he he?
To make myself clearer, I will use our "Treasure Map" to illustrate my point.

Generally there isnt much that will deflect a compass, those that do are :-

Large magnetic instrument or machine (electrical) or Lodestone.
Large deposit of metal (in the ground) or a vehicle and or building.
your compass magnet is loose and giving erratic readings ?

try those out first see if you come up with a answer. ??
as for Ghosts..?? Nah !!

That place could be one of the so called "magnetic spot". Visit that back road in going up to the Philippine Highschool for the Arts, Los Banos, Laguna. That magnetic hill results to an erratic compass reading. Anyone from Los Banos, Laguna knows it.
