Locally, almaciga is employed as incense in religious ceremonies and for torches, to start fires, for caulking boats, and as smudge for mosquitoes. It is exported in considerable quantities, chiefly for use in the manufacture of high-grade varnish, but also for other processes, such as making patent leather and sealing wax. Almaciga is suitable for the manufacture of cheap soaps and paper sizing. In Malaya, the resin is used as a liniment. The sap is used as himughat (medicine against bughat, a condition in which a patient falls back to illness after apparent recovery).

Your picture is not so clear so I really can't tell what those are. Did you say they are still in some cement? Try to hold one up to the sun. If no light can be seen through those then I doubt they are crystals.

They kind of look like those small meteorites that are found throughout the Philippines. If that's what they are you can sell those and make some money from them.

Try to grind (powder) a small amount then add water to make it a paste, then have it stick to a piece of wood and let the paste dry, if it hardens then it is "bulitik", a tree resin.

How to grind and make a powder:  place a small amount on top of a board (hardwood like tugas or nangka tree) then press/roll (with all effort) a metal plate above it.  If you cannot grind it that way, or find it hard to break, then it is not "bulitik".

well your new photo is better and looks like what you claim the jeweller said. tree sap or resin easily burns. if that is not affected by fire then you are in luck.

Yes, I agree that your new photos are much better. The picture would look much better if the sun was behind the item so we could really see the colors shining through.
