kind of metal

my friend from aritao show me this, it was said that while working in their farm,he accidentally hit this metal.
he tried to melt  it by putting on fire but nothing happen, just getting reddish while on fire. he also tried to hammer it out bu it was tough.and when he showed me this, i tried to put a magnet on it and they attracted. wondrin' what kind of metal is this..its small but it has a weight

Maybe it is a fragment of a meteorite sir.

there is a possibility that it is a meteorite because usually a meteorite contains high concentration of iron. but it need further test for verification. i read in the internet before that meteorite could be sell to a collector but i don't know what are there system of pricing the item sir.

If its a meteorite rock fragment (w/c it kinda looks like), its definitely worth something. Scientists would pay a good price for that fragment. Better have it assayed to be sure ;)

i ask sir google for meteorites image and it's almost thesame the one that i posted.thesame characteristics.this probably a meteorite really.

SJ, some of the external characteristics of a meteorite are very present in your find such as:
1. fusion crust or glazed
2. squarnish, rounded edges
Try to check if its magnetic because most meteorites are.
